This unlikely FDNY rescue came in a hospital without a whiff of smoke or flicker of flame: An anonymous bone marrow donation for a 6-year-old girl.

Three years after their live-saving match was made, Firefighter James Wildes and little Alise Williams will finally share a smile Wednesday to celebrate his gift and her life.
