(University of North Carolina School of Medicine) Among people who have had an initial colonoscopy that found no polyps, a possible sign of cancer, the risk of developing colorectal cancer within five years is extremely low, a new study has found.

Therefore, in this group there's no second for a second colonoscopy sooner than 5 years later than the first one.
