HHS Issues FY 2008 Financial Report

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has received a “clean” audit opinion on its consolidated financial statements for its tenth straight year.

The HHS Financial Report for fiscal year (FY) 2008 is similar to a corporation’s annual report to shareholders.

The “clean” audit opinion demonstrates HHS’ commitment to effectively steward public funds.


 

Government Recommends 2.5 Hours of Healthy Exercise a Week

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services issued its first-ever Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.

Think of these as the "Food Pyramid" for healthy exercise and activity level. Experts now recommend two and a half hours of exercise (aerobic and strength training) for adults per week, and an hour a day for children.

The plan seeks to offer science-based guidance to help us all improve our health by getting more active.


 

HHS Announces Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans

The comprehensive set of recommendations for people of all ages and physical conditions was released today by the U.S.
