Emmeline Edwards, Ph.D., a specialist in neural mechanisms of complex behaviors, has been appointed director of the Division of Extramural Research at the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), a component of the National Institutes of Health.

The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) will celebrate a decade of rigorous research with NCCAM's 10th Anniversary Research Symposium: Exploring the Science of Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

Speakers will discuss topics including natural products, mind-body medicine, and the intersection of behavioral science and integrative medicine.

People have used some CAM therapies since ancient times and often with little scientific evidence.
