SAN DIEGO (MedPage Today) -- A turf war is brewing over new technologies being explored for lung cancer diagnosis and treatment -- potentially setting up thoracic surgeons for battles on multiple fronts, experts warned.

(International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer) Research published in the November 2009 issue of the Journal of Thoracic Oncology has found that intervals between lung cancer suspicion, diagnosis and treatment may be attributed to health care system discrepancies.
