CHICAGO (MedPage Today) -- The investigational protease inhibitor telaprevir, added to standard hepatitis C (HCV) treatment, produced a sustained virologic response in about half of patients who had previously failed with conventional therapy, a phase IIb trial showed.

TORONTO (MedPage Today) -- Even after successful treatment for hepatitis C, patients may have low levels of virus that could be infectious, Canadian researchers said.
