(American College of Physicians) The CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices now recommends routine HPV vaccination for males aged 11-12 years and catch-up vaccination for males aged 13-21.

These are just two of the changes to the 2012 Recommended Adult Immunization Schedule being published Feb. 1 in Annals of Internal Medicine.

The annual update of the CDC's adult immunization guidelines includes a new recommendation that young women 19 to 26 be immunized with either the quadrivalent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine or the recently approved bivalent HPV vaccine to reduce their risk of cervical cancer.
