5.0 Chiropractic Medicine

The practice of chiropractic focuses on diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of ailments involving the musculoskeletal system, particularly the spine.

Chiropractic operates under the theory that all ailments affect your health through the nervous system and that disorders in the spine can affect the entire body and its ability to heal itself.

Chiropractic largely involves manual manipulation of the spine, the joints, and soft tissues in the body. The treatment may also include exercises and changes in lifestyle.

It is generally classified as a complementary and alternative medicine, although many chiropractors refuse to accept this classification.
